Eligibility Criteria

  • The advertisement is open only for citizens of India.
  • For Assistant Professor (Engineering/Design): Ph.D. in the relevant field with first class or equivalent at Bachelor’s and Master’s degree level in the appropriate branch as listed in the relevant department table.
  • For Assistant Professor (Sciences/Humanities/Arts): Ph.D. in the relevant field with first class or equivalent at Bachelor’s and Master’s degree level in the appropriate branch, along with NET/SLET/SET qualification or the specified exemption conditions for candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009.
  • For Associate Professor: Ph.D. in the relevant field with first class or equivalent at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, minimum eight years of teaching/research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor, and minimum seven publications in SCIE/SSCI/AHCI/ABDC indexed journals with a total research score of 75 as per the given criteria.
  • For Professor: Ph.D. in the relevant field with first class or equivalent at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, minimum ten years of teaching and/or research experience at appropriate levels with evidence of successfully guided doctoral candidates, and minimum ten publications in SCIE/SSCI/AHCI/ABDC indexed journals with a total research score of 120 as per the given criteria.
  • Candidates must apply in the prescribed application proforma and provide self-attested documentary evidence for all claims including scores in the academic/research score tables.
  • Reservation benefits and qualifying marks relaxation are applicable as per Government of India norms for SC/OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates, with an OBC certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025.

Salary/Stipend

  • Professor: Consolidated salary of Rs. 1,44,200/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (DA) as per applicable rates.
  • Associate Professor: Consolidated salary of Rs. 1,31,400/- per month plus DA.
  • Assistant Professor: Consolidated salary of Rs. 57,700/- per month plus DA.
  • House Rent Allowance is admissible at applicable rates; however, on-campus accommodation will not be provided.
  • No increment or additional allowances are admissible during the contract period apart from those specifically mentioned.
  • Professional Development Allowance up to a specified annual limit and certain research-related grants are available during the contract, subject to conditions.

Selection Process

  • Applications will be scrutinized based on scores filled by candidates in the summary sheet as per the specified academic and research score tables.
  • Documentary evidence must be submitted for all parameters claimed in the scoring tables, and verified scores will not exceed the claimed scores.
  • Candidates are shortlisted for participation in the selection process on the basis of their verified scores; mere fulfilment of minimum qualifications does not guarantee call for interview.
  • The selection process comprises a seminar or sample teaching session followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.
  • A maximum of 15 candidates will be called for interview against one post, and 5 additional candidates will be called for each additional post under a category.

  • Candidates must apply using the prescribed application proforma provided in the brochure annexures.
  • Separate applications must be submitted for each post and each department for which a candidate wishes to apply.
  • The application form must be typed, complete, and supported by self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents and proofs for claimed scores.
  • Hard copy of the application along with all enclosures must be sent by speed/registered post to the office of Dean Faculty Affairs, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Sector-12, Chandigarh-160012.
  • The envelope containing the application must be superscribed with the name of the post and department applied for.
  • Applications will be considered subject to availability of vacancies at the time of each recruitment cycle under this rolling advertisement.
