Eligibility Criteria for Naval Dockyard Apprentices 2025
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess ITI, 10TH from a recognized university/board to apply for Naval Dockyard Apprentices positions.
SC/ Matric and ITI certificates without marks/ grades/ grade points/ percentage will not be accepted.
2. Age Limit
The age limit for Naval Dockyard Apprentices Recruitment 2025 is:
- Minimum Age: 14-18 years
- No upper age restriction for apprenticeship training as per Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum No. F.No. MSDE-14(03)/2021 AP-(PMU) dated 20 Dec 21.
- Minimum age is 14 years and for hazardous trades it is 18 years according to ‘The Apprentices Act 1961. Accordingly, candidates born on or before 02 May 2012 are eligible for nonhazardous trades and candidates born on or before 02 May 2008 are eligible for hazardous trades.
- Age Relaxation: As per government norms (SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen)

Admissibility of monthly stipend is based on Section 13 of ‘The Apprentices Act 1961 and ‘The Apprenticeship Rules 1992 read in conjunction with ‘The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2019’, Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2025, MSDE Office Memorandum DGT-36/1/2021-AP dated 15 Sep 25 and DGT-36/1/2021-AP dated 23 Sep 25. The stipend payable will be range from Rs.9,600/- to Rs.10,560/- per month.
