Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications:

Stock Assistant: Matriculation with Science subject from a recognized institute/university.
Fisheries Development Assistant/Equivalent: B.F.Sc OR B.Sc. Medical (Zoology) or B.Sc Industrial Fish & Fisheries from a recognized University/institute.
Deputy Inspector Fisheries/Equivalent: B.F.Sc OR B.Sc. Medical (Zoology) or B.Sc Industrial Fish & Fisheries from a recognized University/institute.
Inspector Fisheries/Farm Manager/Equivalent: M.F.Sc or M.Sc Fisheries Management or M.Sc Zoology with Ichthyology as special subject.
Junior Supervisor/Sub Auditor: Graduation from any recognized university.
Assistant Handicrafts Training Officer: Graduate from a recognized university.
Assistant Handloom Training Officer (AHTO): Graduate from a recognized university.
Works Supervisor: Matriculation Examination Pass or its equivalent from any recognized institute/university and having ITI Certificate in Building Construction or Carpentry Trade. ITI Certificates to be issued/awarded either by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Technical Education (JKBOTE) or by the Director General Trainings, Government of India.
Supervisor (Social Welfare): Female Graduate – Preference shall be given to the candidates having Home Science/Child Development/Sociology as one of the subjects.
Motor Vehicle Inspector: Degree/Three years Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering from the recognized University/Institute and Having Driving Licence of Motor Cycle with Gear & Light Motor Vehicle.
Motor Vehicle Traffic Assistant: Minimum qualification 10th with ITI, Motor Mechanic Vehicle of two years course from any recognized institute and Having Driving Licence of Motor Cycle with Gear and Light Motor Vehicle.
Fitter: Matric Pass & ITI trained in Motor Mechanism trade (i.e. Mechanic Motor Vehicle).
Greaser Washer: Matric pass & ITI trained in Motor Mechanism trade (i.e. Mechanic Motor Vehicle).
Mechanic: Matric Pass and ITI Trained in respective Trade (i.e. Mechanic Motor vehicle).
Stores Officer: Degree/Three years Diploma in Automobile Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Upholster: Matric pass & ITI trained in Upholster trade (i.e. Stitching trade).

Essential Qualifications:

All candidates must possess valid educational qualification certificates from recognized universities/institutes.
Candidates must possess valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed format on or before the cut-off date (25.02.2026).
Candidates must produce relevant Certificates in original as proof of having acquired the prescribed educational qualification strictly on or before the cut-off date.

Desirable:

For Supervisor (Social Welfare): Additional 5 points shall be granted only to those candidates who have specialized in Home Science, Child Development/Sociology as one of the main subjects uniformly throughout their course.

Selection Process

The selection for most posts shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in the written/OMR examination only.
For Supervisor (Social Welfare Department): The selection shall be made on the basis of 95 marks for Objective Type Multiple Choice Examinations and 05 marks to the candidates having Home Science, Child Development/Sociology as one of the subjects.
The Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice Questions.
The questions will be set in English Language only.
There will be Negative Marking for each wrong answer to the extent of one-fourth of marks assigned to that question.
The candidates who are shortlisted after the written examination will be required to appear for Document Verification.
The syllabus for the posts shall be notified separately and made available on the official website of JKSSB.

General Information/Instructions

Candidates must be Domicile(s) of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The actual number of posts may undergo increase or decrease during or before the completion of the selection process.
All candidates who register themselves will be provisionally accepted by the Board and assigned Roll numbers for appearing in the Written Examination.
Candidates must write their Name, Date of Birth, Father’s Name and Mother’s Name strictly as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
Request for change/correction in any particulars in the application form, once submitted, will not be entertained under any circumstances.
Applications with blurred/illegible photograph/signature will be rejected summarily.
Only one online application for the post of same item number is allowed to be submitted by the candidate.
Candidates seeking reservation benefits must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation and possess valid certificates on or before the cut-off date.
The use of any mobile phone, pager, electronic equipment, programmable device, storage media, camera, bluetooth devices or any other communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited.
In-service candidates shall submit printout of filled online application form through proper channel via concerned Head of Department/Designated Authority.
No TA/DA will be paid for participation in the written test/document verification.
The decision of the Board in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, conduct of tests/examinations, and preparation of result/merit list will be final and binding on the candidates.

How to Apply

Candidates will be required to fill the application form in online mode only through the official website: www.jkssb.nic.in
Before applying, candidates must go through the instructions given in the Notice of Examination very carefully.
Fill all the fields of the online application form with due diligence and after carefully reading the terms and conditions.
Review the application form carefully before submitting. Once submitted and application number generated, no changes will be entertained.
Upload recent passport size colour photograph and signature (clear and legible).
Pay the application fee through online mode viz. Net Banking, Credit or Debit cards.
Candidates are advised to submit online applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date.
After successful submission, candidates should take printout of the application form for future reference.
Do not submit hard copies of the online application form in the office of the Services Selection Board either in person or by post/email.
Candidates must carry two passport size recent colour photographs and a valid Photo-ID proof to the Examination Hall.
Download Admit Card from the official website about one week before the date of examination.
PwBD candidates opting for facility of Scribe must submit required documents as per Annexure-B and Annexure-C at the time of examination.
