Eligibility Criteria

  • Domicile: Applicant must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Academic Qualification (Assistant Manager): Degree in Printing Technology from a recognized University OR Three Years Diploma in Printing Technology from a recognized Board of Technical Education.
  • Age (as on 01.01.2025):
    • OM category: 21–40 years (Not born after 01.01.2007 and not born before 01.01.1985).
    • In-service candidates: 21–40 years (Not born after 01.01.2007 and not born before 01.01.1985).
    • Physical Challenged candidates: 21–42 years (Not born after 01.01.2007 and not born before 01.01.1981).
  • In-service Candidates: Candidates already in Government service intending to apply as in-service candidates shall, besides applying online, route their application form attested by Head of the Department through their Administrative Department.
  • Cut-off Date for Qualification & Reservation: The last date for receipt of online applications (21.01.2026) shall be the cut-off date for determining eligibility regarding acquisition of educational/professional qualification or any other certificate on the basis of which reservation is claimed.

Selection Process

  • The selection shall be made in terms of Rule 43(ii) of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021, updated vide Notification No. 05-PSC(DR-P) of 2023 dated 09.02.2023.
  • The syllabus for the post of Assistant Manager is appended to the notification as “Annexure A” (detailed subject-wise units in Printing Technology, Design, Binding & Packaging, Reproduction, Press Technology, Book Design, Costing & Estimating, Computer Application, Management and Public Administration, etc.).
  • Candidates are advised to acquaint themselves with the above rules and syllabus.
  • Examination will be held at Srinagar and Jammu centres; candidates shall indicate their preferred centre in the application form, but allotment of centre is at the sole discretion of the Commission.

General Information/Instructions

  • Candidates are required to apply online through the JKPSC website (http://www.jkpsc.nic.in); no other means/mode of application shall be accepted.
  • Candidates are advised to update their One Time Registration (OTR) before filling the application form and to go through all instructions and eligibility conditions prescribed for the post.
  • Applicants must upload all mandatory prescribed documents along with the online application form; no further opportunity to upload any document shall be provided after the cut-off date.
  • An applicant seeking consideration under any reserved category must ensure that he/she possesses requisite category certificate valid on the cut-off date and upload the same while submitting online application, failing which action under rules including rejection of application/candidature may be taken.
  • Applicants will not be required to submit a hard copy of the online application form or any other documents to the Commission at the time of filling online application; however, they will be required to produce downloaded copy of the online application form along with original certificates at the time of document verification.
  • Candidates are advised to submit online applications much before the closing date and not wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability to pay fee or failure to login due to heavy load on the website.
  • Admit cards, examination timetable and centre details will be uploaded on the Commission’s website about two weeks before the date of examination; candidates must bring printout of Admit Card/Roll Number Slip, recent photographs and valid photo ID proof to the examination hall.
  • Detailed instructions are provided regarding documents to be uploaded (Date of Birth certificate, Domicile certificate, Degree/Diploma and marks cards, In-service certificate, and any document for weightage as per rules such as NCC/NSS).
  • JKPSC will initially accept candidature provisionally and detailed scrutiny of applications will be undertaken later; if any claim is not substantiated by proof at the time of verification, candidature will be cancelled and the Commission’s decision shall be final.
  • Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct (including impersonation, fabricated documents, false statements, unfair means in examination, misbehaviour, etc.) includes disqualification, debarment from examinations/selection, and disciplinary action if already in Government service.

How to Apply

  • Visit the JKPSC website (http://www.jkpsc.nic.in) and click on “One Time Registration” (OTR) or “Login” if profile is already created.
  • Fill all requisite fields in OTR: personal information, contact information, educational qualification, service details etc., and upload date-stamped recent passport-size colour photograph and signature (size between 10 kB to 20 kB in .jpeg/.jpg format).
  • After updating OTR, check eligibility conditions as mentioned in the advertisement, click on “Show Examination” for the relevant notification month, select the post and click on “APPLY”.
  • Read the instructions window carefully, then proceed; system will display particulars from OTR, candidate must fill remaining required fields, accept the declaration and click “SUBMIT”.
  • After successful submission of basic details, pay the requisite fee through online mode under “Submitted Applications” menu and upload requisite documents (Date of Birth, Degree/Diploma, Category certificate, Domicile etc.).
  • Ensure that fee payment status is reflected as submitted on the application form; in case of non-reflection or “under processing” status, candidates must immediately contact JKPSC office at Solina Srinagar/Resham Ghar Colony Jammu.
  • Candidates can print the submitted application only after payment of fee and uploading of requisite documents.
  • Submission of multiple applications by generating multiple User IDs or prefixing titles with mismatched fee details may lead to rejection; only the application with higher Registration ID will be entertained and fee against one RID will not be adjusted against another.
