- Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science from a recognized University with two years’ analytical experience from Government Lab/University OR
- Bachelor’s degree (Medical) with Chemistry as one of the subject from a recognized University with two years analytical experience from Government Lab./University
- Knowledge of customs, manner and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh
- Must be registered on One Time Registration (OTR) portal before filling ORA form
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 45 years
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen as per Himachal Pradesh Government rules (up to 5 years for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes
Selection Process
- Screening Test (Objective Type – 200 questions: 140 General Aptitude + 60 General Knowledge)
- Subject Aptitude Test (MCQ for skill test, number of questions as per posts)
- Typing Test (if applicable)

- Final merit based on written test performance, normalized using Z-Score Method if multiple shifts
