The Rajiv Gandhi Pariwar Bima Yojana is an accident insurance scheme launched by the Government. It provides financial support to low-income families in case of accidental death or disability of the earning family member.
This scheme ensures that families don’t fall into poverty due to sudden accidents.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Requirement
- Applicant must be between 18 and 60 years.
2. Age Limit
- 18 to 79 years.
- For 80+ years, separate benefits may apply.
3. Income Limit
- Annual family income must be below ₹2.5 lakh.
4. Resident
- Must be a Domicile.
5. Other Conditions
- Applicant should NOT be:
- Government or semi-government employee
- Income tax payer
- Must have name listed in:
- Voter ID, or
- Ration Card, or
- Family ID (PPP)
Eligibility Criteria
1. Accidental Death / Permanent Disability
- ₹1,00,000 financial support.
2. Loss of Two Limbs / Two Eyes / One Limb + One Eye
- ₹50,000
3. Loss of One Limb or One Eye
- ₹25,000
4. Funeral Assistance
- Additional support may be provided depending on district rules.

How to Apply
For Enrollment
- Visit Atal Seva Kendra / CSC
- Submit ID, income proof, domicile
- Fill application form
- Enrollment approved in 2–4 weeks
For Claim After Accident
- Submit claim form within 90 days.
- Attach FIR/DDR (if death/major injury).
- Attach medical documents for disability.
- Attach post-mortem report (if applicable).
- Verification by SDM and district committee.
- Payment released to nominee’s bank account.
